THE HOUSING BUZZ IN THE SHOALS…

The news from all—yes all—the national news outlets, cable or network is bad news about the U. S. housing market. But they don’t know anything about the Shoals!

Our national news machine festers a kind of “chicken little” anxiety. News networks like CNN, FOX, MSNBC, NPR, and the speculative Zillow-on-line repeat the broadcast: “The sky is falling!” “Disaster, disaster, disaster!” Many are paralyzed with anxiety and reluctance: banks, buyers, sellers—everyone. True, in some places the housing sky is caving in; there are locales in the real estate market that have taken a big hit by the economic melt down. The best analysts tell us that the melt down in the housing sector is fueled by ten years of over-optimistic new construction and speculative housing loans and the consequent defaults. Ten years is a lot to get over, over night.

But here’s the buzz: The Shoals ranks first in the state's smaller markets for the greatest stability in home sales! http://shoalschamber.com

Here in the Shoals our growth and our sales are gradual. It’s modest, but we are definitely “motoring” ahead! Like the train engine in the children’s story, we’re the “little engine that could.” With interest rates at all-time lows and some sweet affordable deals in the Shoals housing, we just keep chugging up the hill.

National housing news doesn’t know the real story everywhere and they don’t know anything about the Shoals.
